«A WORLD WITHOUT CIGARETTES THROUGH THE EYES OF CHILDREN»

The new action of FairLife’s anti-smoking campaign

FairLife teams up with a group of teen volunteers in a range of anti-smoking activities for young people by young people!

FairLife Lung Cancer Care, the first non-profit organization in Greece exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, actively supports prevention, lung health awareness and an overall healthy life. This time, Fairlife addresses teenagers and young people, a sensitive audience, who holds the key to a better future.

Fairlife’s youth anti-smoking awareness campaign started with the14 Minutes Fairlifevideo, an initiative taken by a group of 11 teenagers from 9 different schools around Greece, who joined their voices to send a message about healthy lifestyle.

In Fairlife’s new campaign:A world without cigarettes through the eyes of children“, children and teenagers draw to communicate how they perceive and experience a world with or without cigarettes.

Celebrating the Global Day of Climate Action but also the World Lung Day (25.09.2021), Fairlife sends her message “Let Life take your breath away. Not Lung Cancer” to raise awareness in children and families about the effects of smoking on environment and human health. Children and teenagers capture the effects of smoking on their paintings, under the theme “For a Smoke-Free World”.

The youngest Brand Ambassador Orestis Fotis Mikelakis states: “By painting for a smoke-free world, children and young people are encouraged to open a discussion and commit to working towards environmental goals in the family, school and society context. Environment is a lung we share.”

Korina Pateli-Bell, President of Fairlife, notes: “Children bring a simple and clear perspective to life and future through their paintings. We can see the world with their eyes. The initiative, taken by our youngest Brand Ambassador Orestis Fotis Mikelakis and supported by a group of volunteers and friends, is the starting point for a series of activities, collaborations with schools and workshops, based on the message we get from children’s artworks. In Greece, 1/5 of all deaths (more than 20,000 per year) are related to active and passive smoking. We join the effort of Orestis and the children and we truly appreciate their support of Fairlife’s goals, because “Life should take your breath away and not lung cancer”!
