 HEALTHCARE BUSINESS AWARDS 2022

FairLife L.C.C.is granted a bronze award for its communication activities towards lung cancer prevention, physical activity, overall health and wellbeing at the Healthcare Business Awards 2022, held for the seventh year by BOUSSIAS. This is the fourth award for FairLife in 2022. Winning the bronze prize in the category “Actions aimed at information, awareness and prevention” is the culmination of FairLife’s awareness communication actions.

The Healthcare Business Awards purpose is to recognize companies in the health and pharmaceutical sector that have invested in innovation and contributed to Greek society. Also to reward scientific institutions and patient associations for their scientific and public benefit activities by promoting the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases or improving the quality of life of patients.

Korina Pateli-Bell, President of FairLife, notes: ” FairLife L.C.C. was founded in honor of my husband Simon Bell, who lost his life to lung cancer, Awareness and prevention are the main pillars of our activities. Our mission is to support the patient throughout the difficult journey from diagnosis to treatment, while highlighting the significance of prevention and early diagnosis to reduce mortality.”

Our goal was to activate youth through the creation of the anti-smoking campaigns “14 minutes of life” (May 2021) and “Inhale…exhale?  Or breathe? The choice is yours.” (May 2022) by young volunteers. Moreover, we organized educational anti-smoking actions in schools, and the 1st Panhellenic Student and Youth Creative Writing and Poster Competition.

FairLife L.C.C. joined its voice to international organizations and promoted the “GetChecked” cancer prevention and awareness campaign of the European organization LuCE (October 2021) and the “Close the Care Gap” campaign of  the UICC (February 2022). Moreover, FairLife L.C.C. created communication activities based on experiential stories. The animated short film entitled “Luca. The Patient’s Journey”, inspired by Simon’s life, shows the patient’s journey from diagnosis, treatment and cure. Informational videos promote screening and patients’ mental empowerment.

Various events – Asklepeia in action, the support of mountaineering expeditions, the voluntary cleaning of beaches – were organized to promote physical exercise, overall health and wellbeing. By spreading environmental awareness, we engage people to come together and protect the “lungs of our planet”. Moreover, the digital educational library Learn Act Hope was a main part of the awarded projects.
