FairLife L.C.C, the first non-profit social organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, is hosting its annual conference entitled “Lung Cancer in the Age of Innovation: The importance of early screening, new therapeutic approaches – a modern approach to molecular testing and clinical studies”

The conference will be hosted on Wednesday, 23th of November 2022 at the B&E Goulandris Foundation. November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and the conference will be held in the course of actions to promote lung cancer awareness in society and the state, on prevention, early diagnosis and the latest scientific developments, regarding the treatment and management of the disease.

The conference topics to be discussed will be early screening, molecular identification of tumors, the latest developments in clinical studies and the rapid development of new treatments, which save thousands lives.

The event will be coordinated and presented by journalist Elena Papadimitriou.

More than 50 representatives from the scientific, academic and research community in Greece and abroad, representatives of the Greek State and patients as well as pharmaceutical industry executives will participate as speakers and commentators. They are asked to comment on the value of innovation, the role of medical precision and personalised treatment against Lung Cancer and to answer crucial questions, concerning patients. On the part of the State, as a strategic priority and a public health issue, as a field of innovation, for research, a race against time, supported by  modern therapeutic approaches and the medical and pharmaceutical community.

The event will be addressed by : Mr. Thanos Plevris, Minister of Health, Athanasios Meletios Dimopoulos, Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor of Hematology-Oncology, Konstantinos Syrigos,  Professor and Director of the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Prof. Sanjay Popat, Professor of Thoracic Oncology, Dr. Karen Kelly, CEO International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and Ewelina Szmytke, Vice President, Lung Cancer Europe.

In reference to the conference, Mrs. Korina Pateli- Bell, President of FairLife LCC, noted: “Lung cancer unfortunately remains the most common and most lethal neoplasm today.  However, it is also a field of significant progress, as innovation changes landscape, bringing hope to so many patients.
