Full statement of Mrs. Korina Pateli – Bell

Hello, I am Korina Pateli Bell, representative of FairLife Lung cancer care, the 1st non profit organization in Greece, dedicated to Lung cancer, that was established in memory of my husband Simon who lost the battle with Lung cancer at the age of 57.
We are really pleased and honored to be part of the Lung Ambition Alliance initiative, sharing the same vision and values for improving quality of care for lung cancer patients.

Our ambition is to join our efforts to eliminate lung cancer as a cause of death. In Greece we want to further establish “the Lung Cancer patients’ journey” and to highlight the importance of including “patients voice” in such a strategic partnership.

We want to raise awareness for early diagnosis and try together with all relevant stakeholders to establish a low dose CT screening program for the high risk population and work towards its reimbursement in the next years.

We also want to advocate early access for all to comprehensive molecular testing and  to  clinical trials that could enhance patients’ quality of life and the experience and help them live better and longer.

We do believe that by working together we can achieve our goals with an initial step to double the 5-year survival rate of lung cancer patients by 2025.
Thank you
