Ioannis Fountoulis, Byron Kokkalanis and Zisis Soulios are the three new ambassadors of FairLife L.C.C.

   FairLife L.C.C. strengthens its voice with three new ambassadors.

 

The “family” of FairLife L.C.C. welcomes three new members from the world of sport to support the fight for healthy lungs, contact with nature, exercise and healthy lifestyle. Ioannis Fountoulis, Olympic champion and captain of the national polo team, Byron Kokkalanis, windsurfing Olympic champion and Zisis Soulios, Greek cycling champion, engage in awareness-raising initiatives, carrying the message of FairLife: “Lung cancer can be beaten!”

 FairLife- Lung Cancer Care, the first non-profit organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, continues to engage people willing to actively support healthy lungs and promote a healthy lifestyle.

 

The three new ambassadors of FairLife L.C.C.

Ioannis Fountoulis, Olympic Champion, Captain of the Greek National Polo Team

Ioannis Fountoulis was born in 1988 in the island of Chios, where he started playing professional water polo at the local nautical club (NOX). His love and dedication to the sport bring great distinctions at a national and international level and three Olympic participations. As captain of our National Team, he has won individual titles (MVP of the Greek Championship & Cup, 2nd best player in the world in 2016 and 2018 etc.), many national and international team titles and the silver medal at the 2020 Olympics, the highlight of his career so far. At the closing ceremony of the Games in Tokyo, Ioannis Fountoulis leads the parade as the Greek flag bearer, in a historic moment for Greek water polo.

The Greek champion responds to success with high moral standards, sportsmanship and humility, as befits a great athlete. He believes in the talent of the new generation and envisions a bright future for Greek water polo. Ioannis Fountoulis’ next big goal is Paris 2024 and a new Olympic medal. He states: “The games and victories of our National Team proved that no goal is impossible. We can defeat lung cancer, with joint effort and vision!”

 

Byron Kokkalanis, Olympic Champion, Sailor

Byron Kokkalanis was born in 1985 in Athens. He was first introduced to windsurfing at the age of 12 and two years later, he won the 1st place at the Youth Sailing World Championships. His love for windsurfing brings multiple distinctions and medals in 17 European and World Championships. Highlights of his sporting career include the 5th place at the Rio Olympic Games, the 6th place at the London Olympic Games and the11th place in Tokyo. He responds with more training and dedication to the difficulties he encounters on the road to success. Byron Kokkalanis always sets high standards. His goal is to achieve peak performance and his dream is an Olympic medal. He trains hard for Paris 2024 and sends his personal message: “Having lost my father to lung cancer at the age of 13, I stand by every man who is fighting his personal battle through obstacles and adversity.  We never stop fighting for what we believe in, with patience, perseverance and passion. We believe in a world free of lung cancer and to this cause, we rally together.”

 Zisis Soulios, Greek Champion, Cyclist

Zisis Soulios was born in 1996 and raised in the city of Trikala. He was drawn to road racing cycling from an early age and his amazing performances on the road and on the track soon gave him national, European and world distinctions. His top sporting moments include winning the National Championship (8 times!), the bronze medal at the European Track Championships and the 6th place at the World Track Championships. Zisis Soulios’ personal characteristic assets are not only his powerful sprinting performance, but also his friendly personality and positive energy. As a graduate of the University of Thessaly, specialized in Physical Education, he wants to engage more people in cycling and regular exercise, stating: “The freedom you feel on the bike makes road cycling a magical sport. As a coach, I would like to stress the importance of exercise for our well-being and overall health. My goal is to carry this message to people of all ages.”

Korina Pateli- Bell, President of FairLife, states: “We are delighted to welcome three distinguished athletes to join our cause and spread FairLife’s messages about healthy lungs, exercise and the value of team effort. We believe in a common vision: a world without lung cancer. We will continue to strengthen our voice by sending an open invitation to those who believe in our mission and wish to support our cause. Lung cancer can be beaten!”

FAIRLIFELUNG CANCER CARE

FairLife Lung Cancer Care, the first non-profit organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, was created in memory of Simon Bell, who lost the battle with lung cancer, at age 57, in August 2020.

FAIRLIFE L.C.C.’s mission is to support patients throughout their difficult lung cancer journey, from diagnosis to treatment as well as to raise public awareness towards prevention and screening, so as to reduce mortality rates and ensure access to diagnostic methods, clinical trials and innovative treatments for every patient.
