«Our breath is worth every fight! We can beat Lung Cancer»

FairLife takes the initiative to link Lung Cancer Prevention to healthy lifestyle, exercise, contact with nature and the mountains, so as to raise awareness that cancer is not invincible.

FairLife – LCC, the first non-profit organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, actively supports prevention, screening and the concept of health, promoting the value of a healthy lifestyle, of contact with nature and exercise. In nature, there is a healing power. It is perfect and provides us with everything we need.

Activities related to lung health and exercise align with FairLife’s values.

Korina Pateli Bell, president of FairLife LCC, states: “According to Hippocrates: ‘Nature is the healer of disease’

Following the path of the Greek mountaineer Kiki Tsakaldimi, we join our voices to inform about Lung Cancer prevention. The power of the will is the Power of Life, especially when we refer to Kiki’s unique achievement, the attempt on Mount Everest in 2017, leading the first Greek female expedition to the top of the world. She, there, had to face one of the worst blizzards of recent years, at an altitude of over 8,000m, which turns every breath from a simple human operation into a very painful process.”

The ever-smiling Kiki of high mountains joined hands with thousands of people, fighting against lung cancer. Her message:  “Knowing what it means to lose your breath, I understand and empathize with the thousands of friends who are fighting against lung cancer. The ascent to Everest is a proof that everything is possible, as long as we fight for it. Today, I join forces with FairLife L.C.C. and send the message that the disease is not invincible. The fight against Lung Cancer is a mountain we climb together.”

FairLife warmly thanks Kiki Tsakaldimi for kindly providing the following video and for her decision to act as FairLife Ambassador, supporting the goals of the organization, because “Life should take our breath away and not lung cancer!”

A few words about Kiki Tsakaldimi:

Kiki was born in Alexandroupolis. After graduating from the Department

of Medical Instruments Technology of ATEI Athens, she returns to

her hometown. By nature optimistic, she carries the message to everyone that “Everything is possible, as long as we believe in it”. And this is exactly what led her to carry out the first Greek female expedition to Mount Everest, in 2017. She now divides her time between training, giving motivational speeches and article writing on her blog page:  www.higherthaneverest.org

Her life revolves around well-being. She loves tennis, long distance running and mountain biking. She believes in experiences that lead to personal growth and her next goal is to complete “Explorers Grand Slam”, inspiring as many people as possible to” reach their own summit”.
