Dr. Dimitra Kanaloupitis is a Medical Oncologist and Director of the 4th Oncology Department at IASO Hospital since June of 2020, when she decided to return to Greece after having spent many years in the U.S.A in large scale hospital units in Chicago.

She has completed her Premedical and Medical studies (M.D – Magna cum Laude), Residency and Fellowship in the U.S.A (Loyola University of Chicago, Rush University, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital/Chicago) and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology and Hematology. She worked as an Attending Medical Oncologist and Hematologist in Advocate Medical Group Oncology North in Chicago participating in all the clinical, research and educational/academic activities of the Hospital Program.

She has an excellent scientific background and is highly experienced in the management of all solid tumors. She has a particular interest and subspecialization in treating breast cancer, lung cancer, gynecological cancer and melanoma and served at Melanoma Clinic of Advocate Lutheran General for many years. She has participated as an invited speaker at numerous international and national ongologic conferences and has accumulated a substantial clinical and research effort with oral and written presentations and publications in medical conferences and peer-review journals.

She has a special interest and sensitivity in the development of screening, supportive, palliative care and survivorship programs and participates voluntarily in organizations and activities that promote these goals. She has been honored with the Humanitarian Award by the Melanoma Research Foundation in September 2018.
