Dimitrios Filippou
General Surgeon Assistant Professor of Anatomy, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, President of the National Organization for Medicines (EOF)

Dr. Dimitrios Filippou was born in Athens in 1970.  He studied Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Athens, from which he graduated in 1995. He completed his Ph.D. thesis in 2002 and received the title of Ph.D. of the Medical School of the University of Athens with a degree “Excellent”.

He received the title of General Surgery in 2006. He has been trained and retrained in various centers in Greece, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Served as Director at the Hospital “Agios Dionysios” in Aegina, and the Clinic “New Athens – Eurotherapy”.

He has taught in various faculties of the EKPA and since 2019 he is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy at the School of Medicine of the EKPA, teaching the undergraduate and postgraduate students of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. He holds the position of the President of the National Medicines Organization (EOF) and the Member of the Executive Committee as well as the plenary session of KESY. He was also the President of the Medicines Price Negotiation Committee from 2019 to 2022, while from 2022 he is member of the EMA Management Board.

He presents important scientific, authorial and research work. He has participated in many research projects. He has numerous scientific publications in reputable International and Greek journals and a significant number of papers in Greek and International Medical Conferences. He has also participated in the translation and editing of many medical books, which are taught in Universities across the country in Medical Schools and other Departments of Health Sciences. He has published books in English with the participation of internationally renowned authors, doctors and researchers, which are published abroad, while he has also participated in the writing of international publications. Finally, he has contributed to the publication of many newsletters for the general public.
