Stefania Vallone in 2007 joined Women Against Lung Cancer in Europe (WALCE), a lung cancer patient organization based in Italy and network both national and international levels. Since the beginning Stefania has been working as a passionate patient advocate with a particular interest on:

• Awareness and primary prevention campaigns
• Improvement of Patient Education and Engagement
• Patient support activities
• Advocacy campaigns

The experience in the advocacy field happened by chance, but Stefania is involved in the field on a daily basis, to actively promote early and equal access to treatment and care and improved quality of life for lung cancer patients in Italy and the rest of Europe.

During these 13 years of experience in this field, Stefania has been part of several Committees and Advisory Boards in Italy and worldwide and from 2012, she is the permanent delegate of WALCE in GLCC (Global Lung Cancer Coalition) and member of the IASLC (International Association for the Study in Lung Cancer) Advocacy Committee since 2013, that she chaired from 2017 to 2019.
