18:00 – 20:30

FairLifeL.C.C. opens the discussion on lung cancer stigma, associated with smoking.

FairLife L.C.C. is hosting a hybrid webinar on lung cancer stigma, related to the smoking habit. The upcoming webinar follows the launch of the campaign “Ask the Right Question” for the first time in Europe, starting from Greece.

The webinar aims to raise attention to the stigma and its socio-economic implications. It will also focus on the immediate and hidden impact on people living with lung cancer and on the prevalence and management of the disease.

The event is coordinated by journalist Christina Vidou.

The campaign was successfully launched in Canada and Australia, indicating that stigma adds an extra burden on patients and caregivers. The stigma is carried by the common perception that lung cancer is the sole responsibility of patients due to their smoking habit.  We aim to raise awareness by avoiding the usual question “Did you smoke?” and by asking the “right” questions about lung cancer care.
