Dr. Mina Gaga MD, PhD, FERS is pulmonologist and Director  of the 1st Respiratory Medicine, Department at Hygeia Hospital. Dr Gaga has worked in Athens and London. She has served as Assistant Professor at Athens University and Medical Director at Athens Chest Hospital ‘Sotiria’, is involved  in clinical work, education and also administration. Her research focuses on immunologic mechanisms and also quality patient care. Her clinical work involves the whole spectrum of respiratory medicine with strong emphasis in lung cancer care and also bronchial asthma. She’s been Principal Investigator in multiple clinical trials, active internationally in guideline development and has published extensively. She, moreover, has an important international role, has served as Secretary General and later President of the European Respiratory Society (ERS), Secretary of the European Board of Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP), advisor to the WHO, Executive Committee Member of GARD and currently serves on the Standing Committee of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe (SCRC). For the past two years, she has served as Alternate Minister of Health in Greece
